FAQ
- How does "per minute" pricing works?
Per minute pricing is available as a part of the shared session. You send us only the parts of your music where strings need to play and pay based on the duration of those parts. This pricing model is perfect for you if you have a short music piece (up to 4 min) and can wait up to 1 month for the tracks, as the shared session is scheduled only once per month.
- How much music can be recorded in a 4-hour strings session?
Depends on the complexity of your music and the number of overdubs you want. Typically, we can record 12 minutes of music with 2 to 3 additional overdubs (passes).
- How much music can be recorded in an 8-hour session?
Depends on the complexity of your music and the number of overdubs you want. Typically, we can record 24 minutes of music of normal complexity with 2 to 3 additional overdubs (passes).
- Do you record musicans playing together or separately, one-by-one?
We record all musicians playing together, regardless of the ensemble size. This is the best way to get that big and rich sound and a powerful emotion that live strings add to any music piece.
- What is your recording set-up?
Aside from recording musicians together in a professional recording studio, for smaller ensembles (quartet, quintet) we mic each instrument PLUS we add two room mics to capture the ambient sound. This technique not only thickens the sound and makes it bigger, but it also makes for a well-balanced sound that is easy to mix. For larger ensembles, we mic each section plus add room (ambient) mics. Larger sessions have a conductor. Each session, no matter the size of ensemble, has a dedicated recording engineer and a session leader.
- How does remote collaboration with you work?
It's a simple process that has proven to produce great results.
1. Design the session that works best for you and get an instant price quote.
2. We'll work with you to prepare needed materials (musicians' scores, backing track).
3. We'll send the final scores to musicians to prepare.
4. Once we're well prepared, we'll run a strings recording session according to your specs (set-up, number of overdubs) and send you a preview file.
4. Listen to the preview and, if all is good, let us know so we can send you the final files. In an unlikely scenario that there's a performance issue, we will do a modification free-of-charge. Again, this is very unlikely to happen as we always prepare thoroughly for the sessions and musicians are top-shelf.
5. Once the work is approved, you'll get a download link (WeTransfer, Dropbox) that you can use to download all the recorded tracks. They will be edited, labeled and aligned. - Where do sessions take place?
We record strings in Europe. In Belgrade, to be precise.
- Can I be physically present on recording sessions?
In cases of bigger projects, that is possible and recommended.
- Can I join via live feed?
In case of bigger projects, that can be arranged. For smaller projects, that is not something we currently offer (or plan to offer).
- Can you help with my strings arrangement?
Yes, we can. We have excellent arrangers and orchestrators that can either improve your strings arrangement or write a new arrangement from scratch. Just let us know.
- When and how can I pay for your services?
All our services are paid upfront, but in case of a bigger or a longer project, payment can be split: 50% upfront and 50% prior to sending you the final tracks. Paypal, credit/debit cards or bank transfer are accepted forms of payment.
- What do you need from me to get started?
In order to remotely record strings, you need to send us your demo track with and without midi strings, as well as strings score to be used for recording sessions. If you don't have reliable scores ready, our arrangers can assist with that as well.

Quality of the players was extremely good and they were very quick to record and get the string parts to us. They were very easy to work with and listened to our feedback. I also found them to be very reasonable for the quality.
